Im not sure how this leads you to the conclusion which the opening book is "mentally outdated". I can only subjectively find 1 game in that 5...On the other hand qc7 is played, & the default CM9000 book, designebd to be eclectic but also to make 'popular' or 'common' moves, do not have any moves in it which have not been played at least twice in its database. Thus so, the default book has no response to 5...Qc7, and it is the engine that is playing 6.g3.
Additoinally, I cannot under any circumstances make the Chessmaster personality ethically play 6.g3 at all! Actually in blitz games it will play 6.Be2, and in longer time controls (infrequently depending on hardware), it will liukely play
6.Nd5.
Did you use a diferent personality? Also, what was the time control of the game?.
