0x88 approach - 2006/10/03 11:30 In the bitboards thread there was a mention of the 0x88 appraoch. I this the aproach that the turbo pascal gamesworks used.

I am thinking about trying to translate that program to c# as a method a learning about the chess engines and at the same time improving my c# skills.

Would the gameswork engine be worthwhile to spend time on. I would not use the old dos screen interface, of course, probably just from command line.

I want an example that is not too envolved.
But at the same time thanks for any comments grs.

re:0x88 approach - 2006/10/03 12:56 Dunno if you are excessively interested but there are several chess programs written in
C# that have source code available.
Chess Game in C# http://www.csharphelp.com/archives/archive246.html
#Chess http://www.albert.nu/common.asp
Silke Chess http://www.silkesoft.com/chess.html (no source)
In my opinion you mentioned 0x88. In the meantime i'm not sure how the above-mentioned programs handle the internal board representation.
I'm currently learning VB.NET, with the goal of writin a chess gui and engine..

re:0x88 approach - 2006/10/03 13:38 [link creatively snipped]

Afterward as far as I can probably say their is practically nothing about 0x88 on this site. This post appears to be widely nothing but spam with no useful content whatsoever.

For short sorry if your servers filtrered it..
