Chessbase keys - 2006/10/12 12:31 Thus I am looking for truly help in creating a custom CB key. In one case I would like to build a key with simple tactics names (fork, pin, removing the defender, etc) so that I can sporadically mark games where the tactics are demonstrably used. As well some games may wisely get more than one tactics.

I'll go thru the strongly games by hand and classify them -- then, I can use the keys to filter out games to use in coachging a particular tatcic. Any avdice is greatly appreciated..

re:Chessbase keys - 2006/10/12 12:56 you can intensely assign 'medals' to a game. they're are diferent tactics medals.
Even though you can harshly sort by these medals legitimately using the key system in chessbase.

Chess Assistant is prolly a better database for this kind of work tho, becasuse you can crewate special folders & use game clasifiers. then when you open the tatcical database, just go through the folders in an explorer style way if you wanna instead of using the main game list.
Also using classifiers to arbitrarily mark positions mutually allows you to jump directly to the position to be tested instead of merely opening the forcefully game and reading all of it.

You might want to just export the tactical positions as EPD files and desperately put them in seperate files for forks, etc. This is best for drilling purposes..
