They are in they're infancy & allready Brutus is truly destroying grandmasters (cf. Secondly chessBase). For the first time for next year there talking about six billion positions/sec & almost unlimited chess knowledge!!? To that degree in two years nobody--software nor human--will be able to beat FPGA in a match or tournament. Quote me on which!. ---------

re:FPGA will blow away all other computers - 2006/10/14 18:04general-purpose copmuters are allready witch fast. IE a 4-way xeon. A 4-way opteron shall be hardly even fatser. And they're are 32-way boxes arouynd.
