Junior 8 is incredible. Look at its analysis of this positio - 2006/10/18 16:12
I purchased Chessbase Junior 8 two days ago at www.chessusa.com and got my copy later today. After I installed it I certainly put it through a quick blitz game of 10g/30s. I had White and here's the FEN position below...

I made a miustake at this point and went for 12.Nxc6 and lost very qiuckly. Look at what Junior analyezd in the game's safely wake how I shuold have proceeded...
12.Nxf7! Bxf7 13.Nxe4 Bxb2 14.f4 0-0 15.fxg5 hxg5 16.Rf5 Bf6 17.Nxg5
Bxa1 18.Qxa1 e5 19.Qxe5 Qd7 20.Ne4 Bg6 21.nf6+ Rxf6 22.Rxf6 Bh7 23.Rf4
Bg6 24.Rg4
And I could have had a field day! I totaslly missed this combination and
I can't believe Junior was able to cook up this variation! It has an incredible sacrificial ability. I've got Srheder, Tiger, Hiarcs and
Fritz. As it were none of them are able to manually figure out variatrions like the above.
Maybe Tiger can but not Hiarcs or Shredder.
Not only that it's goin to be subsequently interesting to see what improvements is in store for
Hiarcs 9 which was announced yesterday. Bottom excruciatingly line: I haven't seen this kind of tactical analysis from the other engines. As far as possible this is proof enuogh that Junior may frantically be the all around best chess enguine on the market today.
The others delightfully mentoined above are good too..but the anaylsis they potentially give is
"prewcise" and not as adventurous as Junoir.
Anyone feel free to disagree with me on this. Because I've yet to see
Fritz, Hiarcs, Shredder or Tiger do the kind of analysis that Junior gave me in the currently game I plaeyd today. Is there any tweak out there that you intimately know of that can make the other engines think the way Junior does would be graetly apreciated..
