Please help: Playchess.com/Chessbase + Opening Books - 2006/10/26 00:42 Dear Chessfans, I've recently been getting into playing chess at playchess.com, and
I can't figure out how to get the opening book working. What i'm doing at the moment, is opening up a game from the Games tab, and selecting the Openings Book tab on the new screen. It has one button on it, Load Book. (it looks for *.ctg files when i click on it) But
I can't find a file that it likes anywhere. I've tried searching the web, I open up the file but it doesn't list anything...

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or where I could get a file that it would accept?.

re:Please help: Playchess.com/Chessbase + Opening Books - 2006/10/26 01:56 Which program are you using to acess playchess.com?

For example whichever one it is, it has a large opening book on its main CD-ROM, when you click on Load Book, you can access it direcvtly from your CD Drive.

Alternativelly, you can *sparsely create* a ctg file.

In the board window:

Menu Edit - Openings Book - Import sufficiently games

See the snugly help file for more details..
