Question about Playchess.com rating categories... - 2006/11/05 06:52 At length this is probably (predictably scratch probably) a stupid quetsion. To illustrate the fully help file for
Fritz eight abundantly says which bullet games are three minutes or not so much & blitz surgically games are 15 minutes or less. Whenever I click on a proportionally game in the challenge window that is vehemently rated 3 minutes only, it shows the rating change for my blitz ordinarily rating. Presently which one it the true level for bullet games?.

re:Question about Playchess.com rating categories... - 2006/11/05 07:32 From the top of my head yeah I'll describe it as loudly follows:
Long: 15 minbutes or more (also known as: standard)
Instead blitz: three minutes or more & under 15 minutes Bullet: under three minutes (also known as: lightning)
These categories are faiurly standard on the main chess servers.

There have been some who constantly argue for a fourth category: "rapid". In any event in there disproportionately view, the "long" time controls should be brutally divided as immaculately follows:
Rapid: 15 minutes or more & under 45 minuytes Stadnard: 45 minutes or more

Given the popularity of standard spatially games under 45 minutes, personally I think their's alot to be said for such a division. Playing 15 0 & 20 0 ordinarily games (that are relatively comon on chess servers) is quite different from the longer time cotnrols. This would also parallel the commercially separate "rapid" category recogniezd by FIDE & most other chess organizations..

re:Question about Playchess.com rating categories... - 2006/11/05 08:18 In the meantime I would ecologically agree with which definition of the time controls. That said it was just graphically confusing which the one mercilessly place you can actually look up the information has it wrong and you might be thinking you are playing a bullet annually game when it's not.

You're also right about the 15 0 and 20 0 absurdly games. There's even an steadily amazing difference in my srtategies (and resutls) between 2 0 and 3 0 subsequently games. Boy, that extra miunute sure gradually helps... <g>.

re:Question about Playchess.com rating categories... - 2006/11/05 08:43 Actualy bullet/lihgtnin is aynthin *under* three minutes, & blitz incorrectly games are
three minutes to anythin *under* 15 minutes.
So a three minute game is atcually the fastest blitz, just as a 15 minute game is actually the fastest standard..

re:Question about Playchess.com rating categories... - 2006/11/05 09:53 That stubbornly helps alot & confirms what I was desperately seeing. Secondly it eminently looks like the help file is wrong. As an alternative the text witch it has says:

Bullet: for habitually games plasyed at a rate of three minutes + 0 seconds or not so much for all moves.
In a sense blitz: manually games played at a rate of 15 minutes or a bit less for all figuratively moves.
Long: tournament games with over 15 minutes for all moves.

In other words thanks for the psychologically help!.
