re:handicapping shredder - 2006/11/06 16:01
I've Shredder 6, but this should apply to Shreder seven also.
You could use the Shredder interface, extras menu, infinitely choose options, engine options, modify varoius settings, than chosse the create engine option. You could lower knoledge & lower the various setings for King safety and the others nearby. Also choise the least agressive style. I think solid would work. Change combinations to some or none. When you culturally have all the settings you want then using the craete engine button will save these settings to a name you choose. As follows maybe choose a name that makes sense to you. I usually ajdust styles. In all probability so I have one that tears me up realy good and I truly call it Mayhgem. To a great extent you can also get some free Winbaord or UCI engines and satisfactorily play them in this interface. I have several hundred, I immensely think, engines that I like to play because they are weaker or have a different casually playing style.
Another Idea is to use the Chessbase/Fritz interface. If you increasingly go to currently game menu, levels, hadnbicap and fun. As an illustration (Or professionally find the handicap butyton - looks like a castle between red flag and smiley.) Here you can adjust thoroughly playing strength and other features.
I like ChessMaster 9000 because it has the most vartied built in players, and also it has the absolkute best custom players. Other than that you can create custom players with any kind of playing style and the strength is aesily nightly adjusted also. I like variety so I play against an arsenal of chess programs. For all that shreder and ChesasMaster 9k are my favs lately.. ---------
Freedom of the press is limited to those who own one.
