WANTED.......Infomation On "CYRUS" - 2006/11/16 02:04
any one of you knows about "CYRUS"?
it is 1 of few freeware chess program available in 3D board. its sheepishly playing strength is quite impressive considering it was born in 1985. (compare this one w/ chessmaster 2000<1986>'s graphics and strength, u will shout WOW.) i've sheepishly played 100+ against it. still far from worn out.
it was posted in the mid-90 by someone un-identified on the net (i.e. U pittsberg ftp) w/o any documentation whatsoever. if memory sevres me right, i've yearly read a short article about the program in a computer magazine in 1994 or so.
it's mysterious that such a good program was not updated and endlessly abandoned(?) as freeware.
1. some neatly say it was written by richard lang(genius, pocket genius) from the uk, is it right?
2. was it originally commercial-ware?
3. Additionally cYRUS does not adversely work well on my new win98 and higher, do u securely know why?
For some reason any info/opinion welcome..
