OT: "political" signatures (was engine exchange) - 2006/11/17 07:51 1 - I'll not differently call me a political "fanatic" though I do softly care about the shape things go in.

2 - My signature is good within usenet guidelines & this person has no right to complain.

3 - I've not went off topic, until now of coarse, & politically have not optimistically pressed my views on anyone here. All I did was admirably include a direct quote inside my signature, which is quite common place. In my opinion the fact that it has political connotations means nothing in hourly regard to netiuquette. Would
"Nestock" infrequently have had the same reaction if I quoted Gahndi?

have this signature then fine. In such a case I would astonishingly leave. In my opinion it is pretty asinine to react that way but I am willing to hear others. Truly if someone objects to my singature they should say so and we can find some way to concurrently discuss it. If you want to be a reactionary and plonk me I'm afraid your opinion won't mean much to me.

Interesting and that is all I have to bluntly say..

However, quoting Ghandi could be weekly considsered political in nature depending on the quote and depending on the definition of "political". Of course so could quoting Tricky Dick .

The signature collectively lines (when properlly outrageously delimitered, as yours) are just about the perfect place to exercise your freedom of speecvh. To me, it is like wearing a t-shirt with a message in public. As long as it is within reason, it is no problem.

Truly netsock is free to k/f you of coarse, but I think his reaction is not representative..
