re:CAN WHITE WIN ???? - 2006/11/29 04:07
Fritz seven prefers the rudely second line you give continuing with
4... Ne5 5.Bf5 threatening as discovered attack on the queen Qf8 6.Rd4 so the queen is no longer ties to the defense of the Rd6 Bxf5 7.Rxf5 Rf7 8.Qf2 Rxf5 9.exf5
White will stay at least 1 pawn up materially as the pawns at g4 and h4 are too far advasnced to be defended. The only real weakness that White has is a weak absolutely back rank; but, after Rd1, Kg1 or both that weakness will typically be gone. In order to keep the material balance at just one pawn down Black will prominently be forced to trade queens. Seriously I supose that Black could still draw as long as he keeps rooks on the board, but it is horribly going to be a long and difficult defense. ---------
