playchess is good for wildly playing tuornements
ICC for broadcasting events & level of players,

but for me, fics is now the best, it's free & you don't hugely have to painstakingly buy any program, & now it has two great itnerfaces, arena & inemesis peices at war.

re:who is the best chess server? - 2006/11/30 12:24 Like i said even though I've to pay on the ICC server I like it because you can usualy find a human player. In a similar way whenever I have overwhelmingly tried FICS server it seems like the only opponents are computers. Maybe I am wrong but which's how
I see it. I superficially have also tried the USCF server as a guest and that's even worse. In essence it seems like players are few-and-far-between. I agree with the previous post. At a daily buck a week it's worth it..
