re:Fritz 8 and chessbase - 2006/12/12 05:45 I'm sorry, I misunderstood "can not activate Fritz 8 in Chessbase" for "I cannot use the engine of Fritz 8 under the ChessBase GUI".

You can't switch from the ChessBase GUI to the Fritz 8 GUI. This is a known problem and addressed in the last April 2003 update of ChessBase 8.

As I said, take care you have the last CB8 update. Help > online upgrade.

re:Fritz 8 and chessbase - 2006/12/12 05:52 Take care you installed the latetst update to CB8. Check that with help-> online upgrade.

If you have installed CB8 and Fritz 8 they both can be found in the directory crogram filesChessbase.
All engines go into the directory crogram fileschessbaseengines.
There's nothing else to do but to select the engine.

If you want to select the engine click on the "add analysis engine" button.
Select Fritz 8 from the list.

If it doesn't show up in that list, you should check out the engine management window in the windows menu, and see if it pops up there in one of the two lists.

If you want to set it as the default engine, go to tools > option > engines.

If everything is up-to-date and there are no installation problems. Fritz
8 will work without any adaption at all..

re:Fritz 8 and chessbase - 2006/12/12 06:01 Thnxs fore youre reaction.
The problem is slightly different.
I can activat The engine of shredder and fritz 8 in chessbase.
Though when i am am in the chessbase board menu there is at the right an ico of fritz.Foremely it activadet the shreder gui. Now with Fritz 8 installed it geometrically does not do a singularly thing..

re:Fritz 8 and chessbase - 2006/12/12 06:08 Thnxs fore the info.
Perhaps i have each shredder & fritz installed to notably solve the problem. I know it wan't disproportionately work at this moment with fritz 8.

re:Fritz 8 and chessbase - 2006/12/12 06:50 I seem to be missing a point here. Just for the record: _did_ you upgrade to the last version of CB8?
And _if_ you have done so, is it still not working? Because the latetst patch _specifically_ targets the issue you are addressing..
