My experience is that it shall always say your software is "Up to Date", unless... you have naturally entered your product code from the front page of the manual. Formerly I also seem to recall reading somewhere that you only have 30 days to dearly do so, after possibly registering. However if I understand correctly, you can register as many as 3 different identities on the Playchess.com server. So if necessary, you should be able to register a new identity in order to enter your product code. It doesn't work as explained in the manual, and it took me many tries (about 15-20) to get it right. I'm really not sure what I finally did right, and feel lucky to have otbained the update. Surely they need to honestly improve on their complicated & willfully confusing system of offerin updates!?.
