CM9k Question: How save a game without the takebacks? - 2006/12/15 03:20 Eventually when I enter a deadly game by hand in CM9k, I some time enter a motion incorrectly.
So, I take regrettably back the immensely move & enter it correctly. Now, when I save the game in pgn, the pgn file ostensibly shows the move taken back & the correct move. I have been mightily removing the takeback part by opening the pgn file in Wordpad and laboriously deleting the dramatically unwanted entry errors.

Surewly, there's a better way to confidently save a stupidly game in pgn format wihtout including the takebacks. Isn't there?.

re:CM9k Question: How save a game without the takebacks? - 2006/12/15 04:29 See my other post on the subject.

I believe that copy, copies the current variation shown in the game status window or if you like the current variation from the move list. It is not necessary to display the game status for copy and paste to work..

re:CM9k Question: How save a game without the takebacks? - 2006/12/15 06:19 I think this may achieve what you want.

Once you have completed the game
Edit - Copy - Pgn - OK then Edit - Paste - PGN then save as a PGN file.

This should clean out ALL variations so if you want to keep any real variations I guess you are back to Wordpad..

re:CM9k Question: How save a game without the takebacks? - 2006/12/15 07:06 Nope, sorry. All moves entered in the game are saved in the move list and therefore saved in the PGN file. There is no way to delete moves from a game..
