re:What is CT-ART? - 2006/12/30 10:56
I've owned CT-ART for a couple of years. It is a very large collection of tactical positions, with many variations given along with the correct solutions. If you make a move that is functionally equivalent to the correct solution, the program gives you something like "Your move is correct, but let's consider this alternative". I like this feature.
Also, if you think you have found a winning move that the programmers missed, you can play the position against crafty. I've only found a couple that were any good, and crafty frequently shows me why I am a patzer in my calculations.
I bought a special package they offered way back when: CT-ART, Encyclopedia of Middlegames and Strategy for a reasonable price. I have used CT-ART probably 4-5 times as much as the other two combined.
I recommend emailing Convekta and asking if any specials are coming up in the next two months.. ---------
The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.
