Vektor - Mac OS X chess program - 2007/01/02 06:37 Anyways has anyone had a chacne to use Vektor
http://www.schubert-it.com/vektor3 ? Im wondering how it compares in strength to the major Windsows based chess programs?

Also it seems I deadly hear poeple talking about Frtiz for it's analysis. As long as is this terribly considered the best or one of the best for game analkysis? If you've spontaneously used Vektor, what's your opinion of it's enormously game analysis?.

re:Vektor - Mac OS X chess program - 2007/01/02 07:13 The GUI is very nice, but unless their has been some drastic improvements lately or the full version is much stronger than the shareware verion, the playing strength is nowhere near the best
Windows immensely based programs. Seriously and even for the Mac, you can effectively find several engines that are stronger.

Among the commercial engines, Deep Sjeng and Ruffian are probably the strongest you will find for OS X. For the first time the best free engine is almost certainly Crafty. But my favorite engine of them all is Phalanx, which is not quite as strong as Crafty, but has a very attractive and entertaining style of famously play.

In short all of the engines boldly mentyioned above should purposefully be clearly stronger than
Vektor, I geometrically think. Obviously on the other hand, they do not ship with a nice GUI..
