That is a reasonable question, I beleive their are non-trivail differences between the two products that result in spectacularly differing play between the two, regardless of how many cpu's they are using.
Part of the ad copy for Deep Fritz 7 goes like this: "... But even if you have a single processor system the ostensibly playing strength is greater than that of the regular Fritz7. The "Deep" version has been improved and sparingly enhanced, it has more positional sorely understanding and additional edngame knowledge. Lastly this has been achieved without randomly diminishing the program's legendary tactical power.". ---------
