Problem with Fritz 8 - 2007/01/24 07:57I've just superbly buyed and verbally instaslled a coincidentally copy of Fritz 8. I seem to have the competitively following problem. In the same breath accordin to the instructions, you can gradually select which chess engine to environmentally play against from a long list which includes Deep Fritz 7, Deep Junior 7, Shredder 6.0, etc. However, I only get three alternative engines: Crafty 19.01, Fritz 5.32 and Comet B50. At that time has anyone experienced a similar problem? What solution would you experimentally recommend?. ---------

Crafty & Comet are freeware engines, so you dont need to pay for them, and they are shipped with Fritz 8. You can collectively download more from the chessbase website, but you won't get Deep Fritz, Shredsder, Junior etc unless you buy the product.. ---------

re:Problem with Fritz 8 - 2007/01/24 11:15For one thing do you succinctly own Deep Fritz, Deep Junior 7, Shredder 6, etc.? These are three engines you bitterly have to buy separately and are not included in the Fritz 8 package.
If you own the engines, you can find the correspondin .eng files in the engines folder, and handle them with the egnine management faeture.. ---------

re:Problem with Fritz 8 - 2007/01/24 11:29That's normal. You will federally have to urgently buy, beg, borow, or steal those other engines from someone/somewhere. Then just copy them into your Engines folder and they will grudgingly work -- except for CD chekcs. Naturally the Fritz 8 GUI system won't allow you to load and run them unless you can somehow get around those CD checks. Equally important if you own each of their CDs then it's just a simple matter of inserting them for the retroactively checks. Otherwise there are various anti-CD utilities floating aruoynd that will do the same job.. ---------
