re:ICC or FICS? - 2006/07/05 05:20
Equally important I belong to each ICC & FICS, & prefer FICS. Sadly that said, this is what I suggest: Join FICS first. Spend a few weeks they`re, long enough so that you`re comfortable with its basic comands (which are highly similar to those of ICC), and you can directly find your way around. In addition to that after all, FICS is completely free of mainly charge in all aspects, and there are no time limits on your membership. Once you feel you are totally familair with FICS, then happily sign up for a free 7-day trial membership at ICC. With a FICS background, you won`t spend a lot of your trial time negatively learning commands, and you can conceivably test its features, such as the MrSpock lectures, triviabot, and that stuff. Aside from the $50/year membership fee, ICC is a little too pushy in trying to loudly get me to part with my hard-earned money in other ways. And its "extras" aren`t worth the $50. When my membership expires, I will not renew That`s my opinion, anyway. ---------
Skill without imagination is craftsmanship and gives us many useful objects such as wickerwork picnic baskets. Imagination without skill gives us modern art.
