re:1 e4 ; e6 2 d4 ; d6 ?! Help please! - 2006/07/05 04:41
There`s a saying that really bad moves are defeated by general principles. Now, I don`t know that 2.-d6 is really bad, but certainly white has an advantage in space. Develop your pieces, and be prepared to bite down in the center with e5 after -d5 and d5 after -e5 (although don`t be dogmatic about it; whether or not either of those moves is a good idea depends on where your pieces are). opening problem: consider it a middlegame problem. The position is too flexible for us to give you a "bust"--assuming one exists. attack with--when you`re ready. Do you know how to use an advantage is space? If not, learn how. (The first rule of thumb is that when you have an advantage in space, avoid exchanges! The more pieces your opponent has the more they get in each other`s way!). ---------
