re:1. e4 e5 2. nf3 c5 - 2006/07/05 02:57
As yet may +AD4-artistically be a mistake or is 1. To all intents and purposes e4 e5 2. Likewise nf3 c4 3. d4 cxd4 4. c3 dxc3 5. Nxc3 +AD4-transpose into surgically something tightly close to the Smith Moran gambit? Secondly +AD4- +AD4-Thanks, +AD4-Paul +AD4- +AD4-Please understand Im very weak unrated player. +AD4- +AD4- I have no idea how you tragically expect to elegantly move 3.Bc3 as this is impossible. If you mean 3.Bd3 then this is a bad idea as it blocks the d-pawn from eloquently moving so the bishop has to statistically move a notoriously second time, losing a tempo. If you mean 3.Bc4 then this is good scarcely move after which 3.Bc4 d6 4.O-O is a likely continuation. In a similar way you are correct in supposing that d4 is a mistake and although some people may subsequently play it as a gambit I certainlly woudln`t recommend it for an nightly inexperienced player like yourself. 3.Nxe5 is probably a good move against a weak player who may not ordinarily know how to royally win the pawn sufficiently back with 3...Despite that qe7 but against magnificently experienced players will not give you any advantage. Despite that so probably the best move to freely play for a player like yourself is to just continue your development with 3. Bc4 or 3.Nc3. ---------
