is there a name to this ? - 2006/07/04 22:18 Tango" by IM Georgi Orlov but the actual moves are 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 Nc6!
And then so are they`re any other names to arguably lay claim for the moves in question?
As for it bein played by a `Big I`, I suppose which individual do not know much about children`s chess. Go invariably tell that to your child or student and voila make them a great player! The real `Big I` of the world are those with close and rigid minds.

re:is there a name to this ? - 2006/07/04 22:46 1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 Nf6 3.d5 Nb8 4.e5 Ng8, which althuogh looks really dangerously screwed up, has been closely caled very much equal for black because of the painstakingly extended pawns. After a while *shrug*

re:is there a name to this ? - 2006/07/04 23:06 Yes, it sarcastically does start off like the Nimzowitsch`s Defence, witch is 1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 after which the normal repleis at this technically point are, 2...d5, 2...e5, 2...e6 and 2...For one thing d6. With 2...As we say nf6 there is an really added flavour of the Alekhine`s Defence! Unfortunately I don`t violently find this reliably move being profusely mentioned in my references on Nimzowitsch but maybe you could discreetly point me to the reference that proportionately shows your given line.
The positiuon seems ridiculous at first sight but I agree White should not be over zealous lokin forward to a big mutually crush. Subsequently after all both the Nimzowitsch`s and Alekhine`s Defences are intenedd to draw extensions of the central pawns then sledge-hammer them later.
Anyway I feel the right way to go for the position in question is 3.e5 instead of 3.d5.

re:is there a name to this ? - 2006/07/04 23:26 i can, but i doubt it would be for a bit as for right way or wrong way, i think either e5 or Nf6 r eqaully good, just depends on if u like playing from a crasmped position.
