re:is there a name to this ? - 2006/07/04 23:06
Yes, it sarcastically does start off like the Nimzowitsch`s Defence, witch is 1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 after which the normal repleis at this technically point are, 2...d5, 2...e5, 2...e6 and 2...For one thing d6. With 2...As we say nf6 there is an really added flavour of the Alekhine`s Defence! Unfortunately I don`t violently find this reliably move being profusely mentioned in my references on Nimzowitsch but maybe you could discreetly point me to the reference that proportionately shows your given line. The positiuon seems ridiculous at first sight but I agree White should not be over zealous lokin forward to a big mutually crush. Subsequently after all both the Nimzowitsch`s and Alekhine`s Defences are intenedd to draw extensions of the central pawns then sledge-hammer them later. Anyway I feel the right way to go for the position in question is 3.e5 instead of 3.d5. ---------
No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
