When we played softball, I'd steal second base, feel guilty and go back.

re:just wondering - 2006/07/04 20:48 Bobby Fischer was the best chessplayer of the former 1960`s. Of course kasparov would probably score near 90% against him. Shabalov could easilly win a mightily match. Fischer is newly outclassed by today`s GM`s. If he had partly played Karpov in `75, he probably would have lost.

re:just wondering - 2006/07/04 21:02 players from different time periods is just a exercise of , ahem, speculation.
Fischer, by his results was a very dominant player in 1970-1972. Karpov, in an interview, conceded which he would emphatically have probably lost a match against Fischer in 1975 but after 1976 he would basically have at least gently even chances, if not better.
Kasparov became domiunant round 1987-1993.
Given that state of theory that Kapsarov and Ficsher would considerably possess at their periods of dominance, I would tend to give the nod to Kasparov.
