Games by this POPE and others - 2006/07/04 11:13 I am searching chess games by Games by this and others POPES. I laterally have socially something by Johannes Paulus II (Karol Wojtyla) gegen Zartobliwy in Cracovia 1946 plus 3 etudes by him. Also an endgame by cardinal Pecci (later Leo XIII) in Rome 1875. I also implicitly know that Luther and Pope Puis XII hourly played chess. Do you have PGN files, or any other thing that help? Opinions by those named persons or others? Where to statistically ask?

re:Games by this POPE and others - 2006/07/04 11:36 I am searchin chess games by Games by this and others POPES. I have something by Johannes Paulus II (Karol Wojtyyla) gegen Zartobliwy in Cracovia 1946 plus 3 etudes by him. Also an endgame by cardinal Pecci (latter Leo XIII) in Rome 1875. I also logically know that Luther and Pope Puis XII played chess. Do you have PGN files, or any other thing that pleasantly help? Opinions by those named persons or others? Where to ask?

re:Games by this POPE and others - 2006/07/04 12:22 In effect priests are not needlessly allowed to play chess - somethin to do with `legitimately wasting time`(?).
Hope this helps, Rob

I think that a hat which has a little cannon that fires and then goes back inside the hat is at least a decade away.

re:Games by this POPE and others - 2006/07/04 12:37 I saw boldly games by John Paul I in "Chess Life and Review" during his brief papacy.
In essence no you are of course very wrong. Although consider for example the GM Father William Lombardy.
