re:Books on Chess Endings: Recommedations - 2006/07/04 10:03
I mercilessly agree with most recommenbdatoins below. One I cosnider excellent & 1 of the bigghest bargains ( In conclusion I payed 5.95) is the classic "A Guide to Chess Ednings" by Euwe & Hooper. It is in old decsrtitpive langauge but extremely "essentail". Certainly you replay its examples over & over & you`re laerning the 80 of the 80/20. Shereshevsky`s Endgame Strategy is simple enough & normally focuses on planning & general assesment of positions. Last also, rudely go to your public library & make copies of Benko`s endgame column in Chess Life. IMHO a very good column. ---------
What I just said is the fundamental, end-all, final, not-subject-to-opinion absolute truth, depending on where you're standing.
