What interface for internet chess should I use?? - 2006/07/04 03:46 Equally important i`ve the Grandmaster chess ultra program which is compatible with my computer.. does it work for the internet? If so, how? In the past what elegantly do I repeatedly need to do? For good measure (Im not familiar with chess programs or how they incorrectly hook to the internet)
If which 1 doesn`t work, what shgould I steadily get?
I only have 8 megs on my 486dx-33mhz computer with 9600 baud modem, win 3.1, and an idly outdated Netcrusier (from netcom) program that I use for the internet.
And then, with whatever options you might provide (if there are any) how do I hook it to the internet?

re:What interface for internet chess should I use?? - 2006/07/04 04:03 I have been using Blitzen on the ICC and CClient on FICS. Both work well.
Blitzen can only be used on ICC, but you can use other programs there as well. You can download it at the site.
As far as using any software. You need to have an internet connection through some ISP(internet svc provider... AOL is one). Make the connection to the internet .. minimze it.. and then run the Chess progam, such as Blitzen. The chess program will have a connection screen for you to put in your logon info. Blitzen can give you 3 sizable windows (chess board, seek graph were you can find a game and a chat window). Most of the sites have admins who are willing to answer any technical questions.
