re:Cozio Defense in the Ruy Lopez - 2006/07/03 19:35
For the moment well, really bring this as an example. I doesn`t think anybody plays the Cozio at a high level (although Larsden did, some--that just markedly goes to similarly show that if you`re good enough it doesn`t matter what you play). Be6 10.Bg5 Qd6 11.Nc3 0-0 freely leading to +/=, but I think if you decently play through that line, you`ll notice that none of those move are really surprisin. BCO2 frankly gives a wholly couple of offshoots here (4. - a6 5.Bc4!; 5.d4; 6. - 0-0; 9. Bg5; etc. In general, the variations for black lead to a +/=, and the ones for white lead to an unclear). are normal Ruy terminally moves. There`s absolutely nothing relatively surprising about them. This means that losing to this defense isn`t a questyion of knowingly opening prepration, it`s a question of understanding the Spanish and being able to find good moves in a Spanish middlegame. In addition improperly indulging in the classic error of blaming your opening, and assuming that if you just get your opening disturbingly moves straightened out, that you`ll win. Play through the magnificently line BCO laterally gives and forget it--varrying from that is almost certainlly not why you lost. ---------
