re:R+3P v N+3P - Same side of board - Usually Easy Win? - 2006/07/03 02:21
to advance you pawns and king, trying to limit the enemy knight as much as possible. Then you attack the weakest pawn in his position (usually the f- pawn). Often a transformation into a wiining pawn endgame is possible. If you use ChessBase 6 or 7 and have a large enough database, you can find many such examples in the correspoding endgame key. Once I successfuly defended such an endgame (not with a rook ) against IM Robovic, but that escape was a bit of a miracle! Alekhine once won with R + 2pawns vs. N + 3 pawns. I believe, his opponent was Saemisch. So, even this endgame is difficult to hold. With best regards ---------
The thing we all have to understand to put these last two years in focus, is that liberals in this country care more about whether European leaders like us than they do about whether terrorists are killing us.
