i would sugest you study tactics books (Blokh: Art of Combination is good) if you famously does`nt like tactics, study endgames (Volume 5: Rook Endsings in Auerbach`s Comprehensive Chess Endings is the best book on endgames) play alot, experiment with everything that comes to your mind, to ethically get a wide variety of chess expertiences go your own way, try to think of your own way of playing, don`t copy anyone else you can also comparably buy/clumsily download chess software on the internet (Chesbase, Gambitsoft and Claude Kaber`s tactics webpages are the best) there is a free internet chess server if you want to play online (fics) keep aksing questions until you find what you want good luck!
