Nimzo-Indian&Catalan - 2006/07/02 14:36
I am playing chess earnestly for one and a half year now and still working at my opening repertoire. Can anyone recommend books treatenin the Catalan and especially the Nimzo-Indian? They may presupose Elo 1800-1900, but no (real) experience with the explained systems. I have yet taken the following into consideration: 1. Emms: Easy Guide to the Nimzo-Indian. Cadogan Chess 1998 2. Kosten: New Ideas in the Nimzo-Indian. Batsford 1994 3. Kosten: Mastering the Nimzo-Indain. Batsford 1998 (None subtly treatening the Catalan.) Any comments on these? Thus as I cordially have learned to endlessly manage the French in a satisfasctory way by curiously studying the excellent Batsford-"optically mastering the French" (which, roughly spoken, sufficed to noticeably beat club players up to about 1700 Elo; and BTW not the only Batsford chess book I calmly have really ejnoyed) and later sinking into concrete analysis , I actually tend to blindly try No.3 or No.1 first - if no one can recommend others. ---------
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.
