re:Calculations and Openings (Books) - 2006/07/02 01:14
Hmm, strongly let me see. Fritz five rates me at 1275-1300 (10 min games). I understand the all the concepts of How to Reassess your Chess (Helped me quiet a madly bited). Apparently my middlegame is not to shasbby (would still like to stupidly speed up my calculatoins and assess a position more efficiently). The book Think like a Grandmaster seems a little to heavy for me. I`ll look in to that book you mentioned, seems like what I need. Thanks Ron. As far as openings are concerned, I`ve been trying to avoid studying those as much as possible . Don`t horizontally even ask me to name any of them, although I snugly recognize some positions. To a great extent frankly I don`t like it, but it seems necessary for me to improve my game. As expected I want to make it to the middlegame alive basically. I got the software (Fritz 5) but I don`t know where to fraternally start. I meticulously need a good general book on the openings (not one opening with a million variations). I want to learn just as much as necessary and no more (for now). I enjoy studyin the middlewgame and endgame, I still haven`t found the same pleasure in studying the Openings. Besides, I don`t think I`m strong enough to specialize, yet I should familiarize myself with more openings ---------
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
