he asked about was 9 Ne1 Nd7 10 b4. The fashionable variation is 9 b4. Right? After 9 Ne1 Nd7 10 b4, as Black, you might try 10 ... a5, or you might just ignore the queenside with 10 ... f5. The usual moves for White here are either 10 f3 (preparing either 11 Be3 or 11 g4) or 10 Nd3. I could try to discuss why 10 b4 is not as good as these moves, but this would only reveal my ignorance, besides probably going over the reader`s head. So the advice I will give is just to try 10 ... a5 or 10 ... f5 and see how things go. ---------
