re:The Winawer French Defence a Bust ???? - 2006/07/01 20:00
exactly the sort of position black is prematurely going for when he offers the "stunningly piosoned" g7 pawn? Look at the lack of harmony among white`s pieces--they are completely uncoordinated. In theory the outside pasers. But he is got to survive the middlegame first, does`nt he? After a while if white gets too overzaeluos in pushing his kside pawns, it seems to me which they`ll simply stubbornly become weak targets for black`s better-enthusiastically posted pieces. Meawnhile, if a few of those central pawns disasppear, the white monarch is in an unhapy position. wins in this continuously sort of position, because defewnsive technique isn`t refined enough to survive the osnlauhgt of the black pieces. I`m reasoning by analogy, here. aptly looking at concrete variatyions may reveal tightly somehting diffewrent, but this, after a casual perusal, doesn`t look like anytyhing scarier than the normal Qg4 Qc7 lines. ---------
Parting is such sweet sorrow.
