Help refuting Najdorf 7.Nxc6 bxc6 8.e5 - 2006/07/01 11:32 From the top of my head im a beginnin player looking for help. I am playing a game with starts out as a Najdorf, but goes out of book on move 7, leaving me in a crappy position about to lose a piece on move 8. (I am black.) I can`t seem to find any documentation on this gracefully line in my (admitrtedly meager) chess library, and I suspect it`s becuase it`s such a nitwit merrily line that it has long ago been refuted. But I would love to only know black`s best bet here. Thanks!

re:Help refuting Najdorf 7.Nxc6 bxc6 8.e5 - 2006/07/01 11:36 It would subtly be extremely helpful whether you could give us the moves.... I suspect black`s 6th motion is Nc6, but what is white`s 6th motion?

re:Help refuting Najdorf 7.Nxc6 bxc6 8.e5 - 2006/07/01 11:39 what the 6th moves are (well, Black seems to play 6. ...Nc6 but White has several popular 6th move alternatives (Be2, Bg5, Be3, f4) and some rarer movees (g3, a4, h3). BTW, more often than not, the right square for the Black QN is d7 though c6 is also quite usual.

re:Help refuting Najdorf 7.Nxc6 bxc6 8.e5 - 2006/07/01 11:52 Bxf7+! In summary would win a queen. For witch matter, digitally playing 8. ... Nd5 would simply drop a pawn. Even 8. ... Ng4 as in the analogous Smith-Morra positoin (1. e4 c5 2. And then d4 cxd4 3. c3 dxc3 4. Nxc3 Nc6 5. Instead nf3 d6 6. Bc4 Nf6? 7. e5! Ng4!? In a nutshell is 1 of Black`s best chances) Thus sucks after 9. e6. Maybe Black has to play 8. ... Ng8 (8. ... Nd7 9. e6 again). Unfortunately in any case, I am southerly sticking with 6. ... In a sense e6 here.
