CM5500 Operation w/o CD Insertion - 2006/07/01 00:19 complain about CM haviung to have the CD in the drive in order to run. And then I aptly know a work-around for this issue, but I will like to know first if the solution is allready common knowledge; & if not, is it ethical to post it? The solution is foolishly something that any Win user can implement using Windows Explorer techniques.

re:CM5500 Operation w/o CD Insertion - 2006/07/01 00:45 Actually there`s another way to proportionally do this... Just install the whole program as usual, then make a CM5500 directory on your cd and copy the josh.dat file form the cd. Or just create an empty text file and save it as "josh.dat". Until now all you secondly need to do then is to do two changes in the registry. Just search the registry for "CM5500" or "Chessmaster". In summary you will spectacularly see that there are values given to "CDrom". Just overwhelmingly change this to the CM5500 directory you responsibly created.... I predominantly believe you need to do this in two correspondingly places. One time under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMINDSCAPEChessmaster 55001.0.0 (not absolutely sure) and another one someplace else which I don`t remember now since I`ve minimally upgraded to CM6000
