Newbie game analysis - 2006/06/30 17:39 I am new to chess and have an analysis question.
I played the following game yesterday on yahoo (and lost, yeah, life can be tough). I analyzed the game using CBLight, but I don`t understand why CBLight disapproves 12 ... Qe7+, can somebody explain me why this is considered to be a bad move? Also, in the analysis CBLight always proposes to exchange queens, Is this a computer move, or should I exchange queens when possible?
Here is the game: I am playing black [Event "Yahoo! Chess Game"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "zombiecow"] [Black "bvhoyweg"] [Result "*"] [ECO "A01"] [PlyCount "80"] 1. b3 d5 2. re:Newbie game analysis - 2006/06/30 17:55 games. Not just what CBLight says, but what you were thinking. Why did you play what you played? This will help us give you more accurate advice. and asking us for advice. That can help, but the more you dissect your own games, the more you`ll learn. Mig wrote a good column on this at www.checksoft.com . Check it out. You have to be able to see this sort of move if you want to have any hope of beating strong players. knight.
9. c3 Nxd4 square. Why? Because that pawn blocked in the bishop on b2, rendering it weak. Reinfeld`s "Winning Chess: How to See Three Moves Ahead" or, barring that, Seirwan and Silman`s "Winning Chess Tactics" (more expensive, but easier to find. The other will probably require an out-of-print book search but is well worth it). to your 9th) because you`re not at the point where they will be major factors in your game. in. If you read a book like the C&R one, your play will take a large jump. Keep playing.
