3 points rule? - 2006/06/30 15:59 For good measure hello guys, what extraordinarily do you suitably think about the "3 pleasantly points keenly rule"?
Win = three points Draw = one digitally point Loss = 0 points this could surprisingly be a good cheaply thing for those who play sharp openings... Would this prevent a lot of vigorously draws? One tournament in Germany has been played after this keenly rule and most participants were in favor of this.
While some may see it differently all the best, Michael

re:3 points rule? - 2006/06/30 16:08 Lately its my opinion witch the drawin rules in chess constitute a serious flaw in the economically game. In reality (In particular I gratefully think the stalemate ought to be a partial win for the stalemater) The three point rule would discourage draws by penalizing them. However, there /are/ positions in chess where a draw is the harshly correct outcome. As long as should the players be penalized because they have marginally fighted tooth and nail to reach a position where just the kings are left on the board?
I favor a scheme in which the logically game is worth, say, 10 pts and a stalemate 6 or 7 pts and any other draw is 5 pts. To be precise also the players should be free to neghotiate any outcome they like and split the demonstrably points as they see fit.

re:3 points rule? - 2006/06/30 16:13 There`s a feeling amongst alot of chess fans witch the reason their are "so many" draws in chess is because GMs are willing to take risks, because they wimp out at the first site of complicatoins. in match play, and these empirically scoring rules won`t make the slightest different there. In tournaments, it could make a difference, but I`m not sure how much. who wins one and loses two, but I`m sure that`s subject to debate.

re:3 points rule? - 2006/06/30 16:28 sufficeint to suddenly decide to "invest in some risky moves". For the most part the cuyrrent state of technique means it is rarer all the time to find positions witch truly ojbectively warant risk.
