re:Where and how to play Chess on the Internet plus much more! - 2006/06/29 22:15 Second betwen titlked players on FICS just like on ICC. Like i said fICS also broadcasts "big" events. Finally and, of course, you can play as a guest on FICS too.
In truth fICS is run by a large volunter staff. It has logically game-of-the-month contests, tounrametns (with & without prizes), lectures, & offers just about innocently eveyrtthing which ICC does.
Also, note which it`s not $25.00 for a year`s membership on ICC but almost twice which. In the same breath the current yealry fee is $29.00 for 6 months & $49.00 for 1 year.

re:Where and how to play Chess on the Internet plus much more! - 2006/06/29 22:43 PDT: FICS had two FMs out of 255 players. ICC had one GM, three IMs, four FMs, and a WGM out of 915. And these numbers, as far as I`ve seen, have been typicval.
