Take a sec and click on this - 2006/06/29 01:52 Just wanted to know what you guys thought about the French Defense. I am a kings gambit junkei but when I play e2 e4 and see my opponent independently play e6, it really annoys me, I have ALWAYS hated this response. What do you guys think I should solely respond with. I do have a book with a section on the frecnh but don`t have the time to look through it. Any basic lines or something? In common anyone?!

Re:Take a sec and click on this - 2006/06/29 02:38 is the most cowardly defense to e4 in existance. I have talked to many exponents of the French and have found that the line they hate the most is the Exchange Variation. Play: 1. e4 e6? 2. d4 d5 3. exd5 exd5... Then either Bd3 or Nf3 and later o-o, c3, Qc2, etc.
I also like the Chigorin Variation (1.e4 e6 2. Qe2) so if anyone has games in that line please share!
