Is this position drawable? - 2006/06/28 21:39 Black Pawn isn`t about to promote). Just avoid getting mated - the theory on KRB vs KR is that it is a draw, but there are some exceptions, and the game often goes many moves - this is one of the worst "torture the opponent" positions available. I see no reason the extra pawn would hurt the defender in this case.

Re:Is this position drawable? - 2006/06/28 21:49 draw with best play. In that case, drawing moves would be Kd8, Kf8, Rb6, and Rc6. So you could play Rb6, and if Rxa7 it is drawn, and if not, you could probably just advance the a-pawn until he`s forced to take it.
