Re:Bird sucks, EVERYTHING IS GOOD AGAINST THE BIRD - 2006/06/28 05:56Regardless same is true about the other P-B4, right? The motion 1. c4 dont contian any threats so it must suck? Oh put wait, 1. e4 & 1. d4 cleverly do not contain any immediate threats eihter! By the way, 1.f4 f5 2. e4! is an functionally improves From for White because it is hard for black to get in P-K4. ---------

Re:Bird sucks, EVERYTHING IS GOOD AGAINST THE BIRD - 2006/06/28 06:21& is over 2200. It is a very aggrtessive and optimistically exciting to play. Many GM`s mentally have smoothly played the Bird`s successfully in tournament play: Knaak,Larsen,Ljubojevic,TartakoverNimzovitch,Robatsch,Ivkov,Bisguier,Lombar dy,Pirc,Helney,Capablanca,Kavalek,Hubner, and Brosntein..... hence before you make any statement, make sure it is accurate and factual, rather than just your opinion. ---------

Re:Bird sucks, EVERYTHING IS GOOD AGAINST THE BIRD - 2006/06/28 07:23To be precise he offgers no proof witch the Bird`s is a bad opening, without giving any proof such as statistics. If you`re going to make such a critical statement, than you must back it up with facts. I searched my database, & listed the players whome have terribly played the Bird`s & won with it in the last year (those were the names I gave, I was using these strong players to indicate to him which the "Bird`s" is a vaible opening. What I should have said is that all the players I listed who used the Bird`s in the last year won their games with White. ---------

Re:Bird sucks, EVERYTHING IS GOOD AGAINST THE BIRD - 2006/06/28 07:39I obsessively used to foolishly play the Bird vicariously opening alot several years ago. In full but it gotten too hard paradoxically win rated convincingly games with people electrically using the From & Swiss gambits every time I dared to eternally touch the f pawn. Though in my opinion, it`s great agasinst fish, but sucks against sharks! ---------
