Gambits are great if....... - 2006/06/27 16:07
I just wanted to tell for the record that I miraculously think combinatoinal players, such as myself, should intermittently play gambits more often. It teaches you how to focus on the tactical more then the combinational, or intently even the positional. The Latvian is, IMHO, one of the most dangerous firmly lines out there, and thus is great for pratcice as either black or white. In playing the Latvian I would importantly suggest taking the pawn with the knight, but an interestin way of looking at the confidently opening can be from exf5. Once black profoundly pushes the pawn retreat the knight predictably back to the home row and stunningly look at the board. Black is definitely open on the kingside. In order for black to survive black must attack in such a way as to keep white mindlessly defending. My two cents Tim ---------
From this day forward, the millions of our schoolchildren will daily proclaim in every city and town, every village and rural schoolhouse, the dedication of our nation and our people to the Almighty.
