Pruning the opening tree in Fritz5 - 2006/06/27 10:09
I am attempting build an opening book on Fritz. I can go through and add moves, but I have not found a way of removing them. I can only tell Fritz not to play them. Once I tell Fritz not to play them, however, I have no way of distinguishing moves that are bad, moves that are bad for Fritz to play, and moves that are bad because I just dropped the piece on the wrong square. What I would really like would be an opening book containing nothing but the moves I would make as black, and another book similar for white. I don`t want to have to build a game for each opening, and import those games. In short, I want full editing capabilities of the tree, including the ability to prune branches. Is this possible in Fritz5? Is it something that would be solved by purchasing CB7? Is there some other program that can build the opening book to be used in Fritz? In a similar vein, is there something wrong with Fritz`s randomness of opening selection. I have followed the directions on chessbase`s website, but he still seems to obsess about an opening, playing it 10 or more times in a row. Learning is set to minimum, and randomness to max. ---------
