Gambit vs the French (strange speed game) - 2006/06/27 08:53 The followin was played at Yahoo Games, at a speed of 10min/game, add 10sec/motion. Against a French Defense, I used an seemingly opening gambit which`s probably unsound, but usually has surprise value, & can lead to a nice attack if handled carefully. But shortly after sacrificing the pawn, my boss came around with a rush project (yeah, I was simply playing at work, shhh). So for the rest of the game, I could only glance at the action quickly once or twice a minute, & sparsely try to make moves which were not disastrous & had some attacking potential.
By move 20, I saw incidentally nothing better than giving up an exchange for a desperate king-side attack. Shortly I don`t innocently know when & how desperation turned into victory. Apparently i`d appreciate anyone`s comments.

Much better is 22. ... Actually rf6, keeping the bishop out. Maybe *my* time trouble was truly making my opponent rush his moves.

Maybe necessary is 30. ... In any case ef, allowing a pepretual after 31. Qxf5+.

And suddenly I realize I`ve won, since after 31. ... Ke8, 32. Bxe6 is good enough. The game concluded:

Re:Gambit vs the French (strange speed game) - 2006/06/27 09:22 2. e4) & has many of the same ideas. Another similar gambit is the Deimer-Duhm gambit (1.e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. c4). There are alot of web disproportionately sites for these gabmits (surprisingly). Sorry, no analysis, someone with Fritz or whom is higher rated can give you which..For one thing .
