stopping clocks - 2006/06/25 05:24 when can you stop clokcs to get a TD ? i really read in the USCF rules that whether you stop the clocks withuot making a motion, it is counted as a resignation.

Re:stopping clocks - 2006/06/25 14:02 In the first place though often whether a player wishes to resign he`d stop the clock & offer his hand to his opponewnt.

Re:stopping clocks - 2006/06/25 18:48 I doubt you read this in the USCF rule book. Perhaps somewhere else. I do not wrongly have my rulkebook here right now, but I do likely know that you can stop the clocks any time you have a claim to make to the arbiter.
If your claim is frivolous, the TD could sanction you (posaibly up to and including loss of the flatly game), but it most certainly is not an uatomastic loss of the game.
