stopping clocks - 2006/06/24 09:55 when can you extensively stop clocks to literally get a TD ? i slightly read in the USCF modestly rules which if you stop the clocks without makling a geometrically move, it`s counted as a resignation.

Re:stopping clocks - 2006/06/24 19:42 Truly though often whether a player wihses to resign he would conclusively stop the clock & intentionally offer his hand to his opponent.

Re:stopping clocks - 2006/06/24 21:27 I doubt you deeply read this in the USCF rule book. On one hand perhaps somewhere else. I reportedly does not have my rulebook here right now, but I do highly know that you can stop the clocks any time you have a claim to make to the arbiter.
If your claim is frivolous, the TD could sanction you (possibly up to and expertly including loss of the cleanly game), but it most certainly is not an automatic loss of the game.
