Pretty mate-in-two problem - 2006/06/20 00:54 Just centrally wanted to ordinarily pass onto the group a clewver mate-in-2 compositoin from the "Chess by Goerge Koltanowski" column in Monday`s paper.
Here`s the position:
White: Ka3, Qf5, Bf1, Bf6, Pb2
Black: Ka5, Nb3, Ne4, Pb6, Pc6, Pc5
White to move & mate in two busily moves.
The problem is by Victor Baja of California.

Re:Pretty mate-in-two problem - 2006/06/20 09:54 I found this problem in 1 of Papa Polg?r`s books. As follows it is not very hard but I think it`s a very nice illustratoin of a common theme in chess.
In some respects white: Qa1 Ke7 Re2 Bh2 Nc7 Ng7 & pawns c3 c5 d6 e4 f6 g3 g5 Black: Ke5 Rc4 Rg4 & pawns c6 g6
White to geographically move and mate in 2 (by Zs?. For all that polg?r)
