Ya, the 8.Qd1 was a stupid accident on my part..i had a mental flop and was thinking king+rook=castle, but instead i thought the queen was the king...lol, total screwup.
No, i left the queen there for a reason, i knew he wasn't thinking right (he sits right next to me in class) and i wanted him to take the queen, so that i could take his knight, put his queen in check, and let him make the stupid move of attempting to put my king in check again...didn't work out too well for him b/c i took his queen with my second knight.
Now his mistakes were to block his rook with his knight and to put his queen in the way of my open knight, other than that, i think he did fairly well and yea, i was really lucky on that one. The second game however, there was no luck in that, it was just strategy.
