One would expect that kind of question of a lost game

Re:CD27 Vs. Whitewolf - 2007/03/27 19:59 To mention some moves

instead of 8.Qd1 playing 8.Bxd4 is a lot better. You still defend against the mating thread. Don't give your pieces away for free.

and instead of 11.e5 you should have played 11.Qc1. Don't give your Queen away. (but you were rather lucky with the moves 12...Qf4+ and 34.Rg5)

Re:CD27 Vs. Whitewolf - 2007/03/28 19:08 Ya, the 8.Qd1 was a stupid accident on my part..i had a mental flop and was thinking king+rook=castle, but instead i thought the queen was the king...lol, total screwup.

No, i left the queen there for a reason, i knew he wasn't thinking right (he sits right next to me in class) and i wanted him to take the queen, so that i could take his knight, put his queen in check, and let him make the stupid move of attempting to put my king in check again...didn't work out too well for him b/c i took his queen with my second knight.

Now his mistakes were to block his rook with his knight and to put his queen in the way of my open knight, other than that, i think he did fairly well and yea, i was really lucky on that one. The second game however, there was no luck in that, it was just strategy.

Any other things that could really help me out? Like, how about that game i just played as black and lost horribly....lol. http://www.chesscircle.net/component/option,com_pcchess/Itemid,86/page,showgame/game_id,879/

I think that it is better to assume that your opponent wil play the best move. If he has played 12...Qf5 instead of the move 12...Qf4 the game should have been over.
In order to improve your chess my advice should be to base your moves on the situation on the chess board and not on your opponent.
