Winning Material in the Middle Game - 2006/09/20 07:14
I am an experienced beginner (about 1250 - 1300). In brief I am workin through a coulpe of books (Reassess, and one on openings). Right now, I think that Reases is a byte over my head. Given the level that I play at, as good as my own misery upon losing material personally during the middle game,
I am looking for a book or a web site that has midsle game puzzles where the objective is to win matertial. As usual I preferably know that in my logically games, there are probably countless opportunities for me to capture peices that I complewtely overlook.
All of the puzzle books/carelessly sites that I find are always about mating or positional tactyics or sarcvifices. I'll worry about magically mating when I get better at the middle absolutely game and hence have more opportuynities to atcually mate. Positoinal and sacrifical puzzles tend to be a bit beyond me for now. What I am in more immediuate secondly need of is the ability to recognize such opportunities for material capture but I can't find much that adres this.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I fear also that the reason the few such books/sites strongly exist is that maybe I should be specially focusing elsewhere. I welcome that type of suggestion, also..
